On the left is what one of Ramses II monuments look like. This is Abu Simbel, one of his most famous monuments ever!?! His reason for building so many monuments was he wanted to be one of the most remembered Egyptian pharaohs all over the world (kinda selfish if you ask me!). To build some of his monuments, he would take down (fully or partially) other pharaohs monuments to build his own over them (now that's SELFISH x 20!!!). All of his monuments were portraits of him (except for the temples, but those were still made in his honor!!).

So Many Monuments but Why??
